Don't really know if anyone will read this but I have started back up.

Adopted the girls.

Calamity..,after 9 years in the SAME methadone program, after being mandated into treatment for dirty (alcihol-no tolerance program ) test is now facing mandatory weaning and kicked out. 100 mg of methadone down to 0 mg in 45 days. That's rough. Deadly perhaps. My reaponse? I said.... (yea, really) "well, alcohol is legal, BUT it was/is forbidden by the clinic AND you did it anyway. What exactly did you expect?"  She said "Mom, I'm so glad I signed the 2 girls over, because I will kill myself." My reply?  (Yes, this is me). Okay, but if you do...please make sure that 1/4 Pint goes to us! Not her bio Dad.  Sigh. Truth is stranger than fiction when you are a POA.

  2. What? She didn't think there were consequences to making a choice? Addiction is very difficult to balance when one thinks they are in control and think they have the world fooled. Sad to read this is what choice she thinks she has.

    1. Mary. Junkie thinking. Unfortunately it doesn't stop after they quit using. I've named it the "new" religion of "victimology". Smdh

  4. How necessary and difficult that road to tough love and well defined boundaries. I'm not really there yet but it is my goal to do for myself and emulate to my loved ones. Thank you for sharing this.

  8. I am so glad you started back up too but also sorry to hear about the latest development. We are in the exact same boat my friend re: the "victimology" and other distortions. I actually find it easier to deal with her actively using or jail time. That way, it is cut and dry and less of this blame and me having to constantly remind her why we still have her kids.
